'Curious about the stories we tell ourselves, and the tales we tell others'
Artist & Maker
As an artist, maker and confirmed thalassophile,
I am interested in the expression of the human experience,
our connection with ourselves and the wider environment,
and how we explore our potential without bowing to cultural, societal, peer or familial diktats.
The method of exploration ~ whatever fits the question.
I am curious about things hidden in plain sight.
Outside the frame. Below the surface. Exploring the margins.
Following what calls . . . the urge to make,
to Create, to Write, to Curate, to Perform, to Sculpt, to Throw,
to Photograph, to Sew, to Paint . . .
Encouraged and latterly inspired by memories of one my teachers, the wonderful Mo Jupp, who made his own rings,
I finally discovered jewellery making in 2022!
Obsessed with taking photographs, often captured during my travels as a commercial driver,
birds in flight, landscapes, dawn and dusk, light and shade,
and very occasionally iconic moments . . .
To experience the fullness of the human expression, requires my own commitment to exploring my edges as an important part of my practice, intermittently seeking out experiences to place me well outside my comfort zone . . .
Being a participant in Doris Ulhich's HABITAT certainly did that!
To see a little more of what we got up to, there are some stills HERE, and for Mayk's gorgeous short film of 2022's Mayfest, Habitat can be found at 7.10 HERE, however please be aware this link will take you to series of naked bodies . . . in the shopping centre known as Bristol Galleries . . .

Ceramics, an intermittent thread woven through my life, brings alive my connection to the four elements earth, water, fire and air.
